Burny FLG-90 - 1980
FOR SALE

The Burny FLG-90 was only around for two short years, but the guitars produced in this time have absolutely gorgeous tops and were built to the highest quality by Terada.  This one is dated to late October 1980 and has the COS Old Sunburst finish, which earlier in 1980 was only available on models above the FLG-90.  That aged finish looks great matched with the top on this guitar.

The FLG-90 came with a really nice rosewood board and fantastic flame top.  Body and neck are Mahogany and the entire guitar is finished in Nitro Lacquer.  Back appears to be one piece.  Pickups are its original L-8001, which are an OUTSTANDING vintage style humbucker.  Electronics are original on this guitar.  Guitar sounds and plays fantastic.

Condition wise, the guitar has a lot of scratches and chips around edges.  Some ghosting in the finish, see bottom edge and bottom of cutout.  I had to drill out the pickup rings to remove the pickups, so there are new pickup rings installed, a couple of fret markers were replaced and an aged set of pickup covers were added.  Tuners were wrong, so a new set of aged Kluson deluxe tuners were installed in the correct double ring, double line style for this model.  Frets were polished and a full setup done, so the action is low and there is no buzzing anywhere on the neck.

Aside from the cosmetic issues, the guitar plays and sounds fantastic.
It is definitely not a case queen.

These are very hard to find, but among the best vintage Japanese copies.

This guitar is located in the US.
