1987 Fender Japan TL52-120 EXTRAD

Fender Japan produced the EXTRAD models for a brief time and were made as highly accurate copies of traditional models, but above the rest of the Fender Japan product line using US electronics and the best woods available on a very limited basis. These models were only sold in Japan.

This 1987 TL52-120 EXTRAD is a fantastic copy of a 1952 Black Face Telecaster. The TL52-120 was offered with either an Alder body, or Light Ash for an additional ¥10,000.

This guitar has the Light Ash body and true to its name weighs 7.6 lbs / 3.45 kg. The body is two-piece center seam and the neck is one piece flame maple. The guitar is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer.

True to the original, the neck has a fantastic soft-V profile and the guitar is fitted with a bakelite pickguard. Pickups and electronics are unmolested, US made, and all original.

The guitar is all original and has been completely gone through receiving a full setup, it plays and sounds fantastic. Condition overall is very good with some dings and scrapes as can be seen in the photos.

The guitar will come with the Fender hard shell case pictured.
