This 1980 Greco EG 800GS was made during Greco’s Super Real era as a copy of a 1956 Gold Top. The Super Real era version of this model is a high point for Greco P-90 gold tops as it came with a lacquer finish, solid mahogany body with two-piece maple cap, one-piece mahogany neck with Rosewood fretboard, mother of pearl markers, fret edge binding and a fantastic set of Maxon ‘Hot Lick’ P-90’s.
Neck profile is on the large side, which works great for me. When I got this guitar the seller in Japan listed it as being the original owner. The guitar itself has a great vibe, as it’s clearly not a case queen but is all original, less its pickguard of which only the mounting screws remain.
Satisfies my need for a P-90 Gold Top perfectly.
